- Parliamentary Committee means a Committee which is appointed or elected by the House or nominated by the Speaker and which works under the direction of the Speaker and presents its report to the House or to the Speaker.
- Standing Committees are permanent and regular committees which are constituted from time to time in pursuance of the provisions of an Act of Parliament or Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha. The work of these Committees is of continuous nature.
- Out of 24 DRSCs, 16 Committees are serviced by the Lok Sabha Secretariat and 8 Committees by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat. For committees of Rajya Sabha- a link has been provided on home page.
- Adhoc Committees are appointed for a specific purpose and they cease to exist when they finish the task assigned to them and submit a report.
- The Parliamentary Committee system saves the time of the House for the discussion of important matters and prevents Parliament from getting lost in details and thereby losing hold on matters of policy and broad principles. And digitisation of these committees on this portal will also save the time of user by being able to view the reports and search within them by various filters.
